Says Jimmie Johnson: Don't Blame the Beard

Everyone is so surprised by Jimmie Johnson's slow start in 2009, that even the media are coming up with any excuse for why Jimmie has failed to dominate early on.

During today's press conference in Atlanta, one reporter asked the reigning champ if maybe his new beard was to blame for his team's misfortunes.

Johnson's answer? "No. I’ve heard a variety of opinions from the fans. Some love it and some hate it," Johnson said. "But again, if mama likes it, it’s staying. I disagree on the unlucky thing. We’ve created most of the issues we’ve had. It hasn’t been the beard.”

Thank goodness. Don't lose the beard Jimmie. Mama likes it.
